Progressive Teaching And What Not

I agree with the exert shown to us on Friday to an extent. Facts are vital and
 that is what we base everything off of, operative word being BASE. We are
\ not mindless slaves, we are free moral agents, able to think and dream and
 sometimes that is what makes the world go round. Facts might make us more 
efficient humans but our creativity, imagination and out of the box thinking
 is what makes us humans. It is what makes us different, and awesome. Our 
ability to mix facts with creativity and our personal beliefs that makes amazing
 products in this world that we use everyday and this idea of "progressive"
 teaching makes the world a better place.

I liked the theme of pushing out of the box. The idea that these women weren't just made to be mindless wives. That they could be wives and lawyers or whatever they wanted to be. This theme was significant to me because I see this all day everyday and not just with women. No one wants to be themselves anymore, it is as if everyone is abiding by some type of starter kit and it makes me sad. People have come to me and asked if I thought that they should wear something and I, realizing we all like different things respond with " do what YOU wanna do." And more often then not they say that they'd rather not. People prefer to succumb to conformity.

I believe it is going to be the classic tale of the educator becoming something more for the students. Becoming an inspirational figure in their lives. Teaching them that conformity isn't the answer. She is empowering her students to become contributors to society in some other form other than birthing children. She is going to be like a New Age mother I believe, our definition of a mother. To be more than a trophy but to be what THEY want to be.

    Duh High school test will be easier due to reviews, resources, the questions that literally tell you the answer. College wont be the same...it'll be hard and there wont always be prep or "hey write this down notes..." And for those of you who cheat, cheating will be way harder. These are things that we all know whether we found out via stories or whatever. You'll probably want to study all the time and remember time management is key.
